Step by Step

This cycling route takes approximately 3 hours and is particularly suitable for two-wheeled enthusiasts and those who want to get around the city in comfort. Part of the route takes place on cycle paths that follow the banks of the rivers Clyde and Kelvin.

An expert guide will meet you at a central point and take you to some places of interest, which might include:

  • Riverside Museum: the museum dedicated to transport.
  • Kelvin Hall: a multi-purpose structure with a recognisable red sandstone façade.
  • University of Glasgow: the Scottish city is a renowned university centre with six different institutions.
  • Kelvingrove Art Gallery: its collections pay homage to local architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh, radical artists known as "The Glasgow Boys" and much more.
  • Botanic Gardens: located on the banks of the River Kelvin, they are best known for their large Victorian-style glasshouse.

The tour also takes in Kelvingrove Park, a Victorian park designed by Sir Joseph Paxton. Within it is the Kelvingrove Bandstand, an open-air amphitheatre, which has been the venue for hundreds of live events.

Much of the itinerary is in the West End. Here you'll find some of the liveliest streets and a number of bars and restaurants.
