A local guide will take you through the cuisine of this Asian country in an experience that lasts around three hours for small groups. You will enter at least three bars, where you will have the opportunity to have up to three alcoholic drinks, two dishes and eight fried kebabs, with the possibility to choose a vegetarian option.
Osaka's cuisine is known for the saying "eat till you drop". It is a famous and diverse culinary tradition that is highly appreciated and tourists can enjoy it in its hidden alleyway bars or at the street stalls themselves.
Some of the most popular dishes you will have the opportunity to try are:
- Takoyaki: small dumplings filled with diced octopus, covered with salty sauce and mayonnaise.
- Okonomiyaki: a pancake made with cabbage, meat or seafood and other ingredients, topped with sauce, mayonnaise and bonito.
- Kushikatsu: deep-fried skewers of meat, seafood and vegetables, served with a sour sauce.
This last dish is included on the tour, although you will also have the option to request a vegetarian option at the time of booking.
Much of this walking tour will take you through the famous Dotonbori district , known for its food scene, with dozens of restaurants offering these local Osaka specialities.
You will also have the opportunity to complete this tour with sake drinks. Sake is a traditional Japanese alcoholic beverage made from fermented rice. For this reason, it is sometimes called "rice wine".
