Step by Step
This activity lasts approximately one hour and allows you to enjoy a high adrenaline water sport. It is not necessary to have done it before, as this activity is aimed at both experienced and inexperienced flyers. During the flight, a GoPro will immortalise your adventure with photos and videos which, if you wish, you can purchase as a souvenir. If you prefer, you can simply participate as a spectator from the boat.
Parasailing is a sport that consists of a parachute attached to a boat that rises as the boat accelerates and picks up speed. Participants are protected by a harness and can reach a variable height, in this case around 150 metres. Traditionally, parasailing involves one to three people.
The birth of this discipline is due to a French engineer named Pierre-Marcel Lemoigne, who invented the ascending parachute in 1961. In the 1970s, this tool was perfected by Mark McCulloh, who devised the first autonomous parachute deployment device associated with a recovery craft.
To parasail, just head to Waikiki Beach in the Waikiki district of Honolulu. It is one of the best equipped beaches on the island and is easily accessible by public transport.
