Niagara-on-the-Lake Reif Estate Winery Tour

This activity lasts approximately 45 minutes and allows you to discover a winery that produces excellent wines: the Reif Estate Winery. A local guide will take you through the estate and the vineyards, explaining the history and the varieties grown. During the activity you will taste wines of the highest quality.

The Reif Estate Winery is a winery located near Niagara Falls in Ontario, Canada. Its history is linked to Ewald Reif, a German winemaker who emigrated to Canada in the 1970s. In 1982 he founded the company and dedicated himself to the production of high quality wines from grapes grown in the Niagara region. In 1987, Ewald handed over the management to his children, Klaus Reif and Birgit Reif-Bleiley.

Under the leadership of the new generation, the company continued to grow and establish itself as a producer of quality wines. Today, the Reif Estate Winery produces the following varieties:

• Riesling - The Niagara region is particularly suited to growing these grapes, and Reif Estate produces different varieties. Riesling is characterised by fruity aromas and lively acidity.
• Merlot - A soft red characterised by hints of ripe red fruit
• Cabernet Sauvignon - The bottles from the Reif Estate winery are characterised by robust tannins, complex flavours and hints of spice.
• Pinot Noir - On the palate, it has a delicate flavour and hints of red fruits and spices.
• Icewine - A sweet wine made from frozen grapes harvested in winter. It is one of the house specialities and is characterised by its aroma of sweet fruit and honey.

The winery specialises in innovation. For this reason, in addition to the traditional varieties, it produces experimental and limited edition wines, depending on the seasons and harvests.
