Step by Step

A tour that perfectly blends history and gastronomy. An expert guide will accompany you through downtown Los Angeles and unveil its history. You will discover how a small mission on the Californian coast became the most populous metropolis in the state. During the tour you will also learn the essentials about the local food scene.

Los Angeles' best culinary experiences can be found at the Grand Central Market, a market with premium fruit and vegetable stands, grocery shops and restaurants serving Californian, Mexican, Asian and European specialties. It was built in 1917 in the centre of the city and is usually the first stop on the tour. Here you will have the opportunity to sample some of the specialities.

A short walk from the market is the Bradbury Building, the first commercial building in Los Angeles. You'll see its Renaissance Revival brick façade with terracotta trim and elegant wrought-iron railings. It was built in the late 19th century at the behest of millionaire Lewis L. Bradbury and became famous because "Blade Runner" was filmed here.

Next to the Bradbury Building is The Last Bookstore, California's largest new and used bookstore. Upon entering you'll be enveloped in a very atmospheric atmosphere, with grand columns, relaxing reading rooms, quirky decorations and a maze of shelves and books.

Inside is DTLA Cheese, a cheese shop, wine bar and restaurant. In addition to European classics, it features the best dairy products from the United States. Its menu reinterprets traction classics and the most popular recipe is the grilled cheese. On the other hand, if you like your meat smoked, Horse Thief BBQ is the place for you. The menu includes pulled pork, nachos, chicken wings in barbecue sauce, ribs and other dishes. Take advantage of the stop to enjoy their delicacies.

One of the most typical desserts in the United States is donuts, and you can't leave the country without trying one. For this reason, DONUT FRIEND is a must. The franchise was established in 2013 and offers a rich assortment of sweet and savoury doughnuts, both of which are vegan. Like so many other activities in Los Angeles, it is linked to the entertainment industry, which is why the founder is Mark Trombino, a famous music producer.
