With this reservation, you will have the opportunity to experience Middleton Place, a National Historic District. You will depart Charleston in a luxury air-conditioned bus for Middleton Place, a half-hour drive away, for this 5-hour tour in groups of 14 people.
A professional guide will accompany you during your visit to the Middleton Place House Museum to explain the history of this plantation, which was built in several phases during the 18th and 19th centuries. Once you've finished, you'll have the chance to take an audio-guided tour of the various plantations and grounds on your own.
This plantation was the main residence of several generations of the Middleton family, many of whom played a prominent role in colonial history. Today, in addition to being a U.S. Historic District and used as a museum, it is home to the oldest landscaped gardens in the country.
