Step by Step

Discover the darkest and most fascinating side of London's history with this free tour specialising in the figure of Jack the Ripper, the most famous serial killer of the 19th century. Through an authentic tour based on real historical facts, you'll enter the streets of Whitechapel, the neighbourhood that was the scene of the heinous crimes.

The experience begins on Tower Hill, next to the sundial overlooking the medieval castle. Throughout the tour, you'll see key sites such as Algate Church, a regular meeting place for the prostitutes of the time; Mitre Square, scene of the notorious 'double event'; and the Ten Bells Pub, where the last victim was seen alive.

Other highlights of the tour include Artillery Passage, Goulston Street, Lilian's Building, and Spitalfields Market, a former 17th-century silk market. At every turn, the guide, dressed as Jack, will spin the tale with historical accounts, factual data and details about the victims, leaving aside any sensationalist approach.

The tour includes no fictional elements. Everything you hear is backed up by studies by so-called "ripperologists", experts on the case. An immersive and unique way to learn about London's history from an unusual, but respectful and educational angle.
