Step by Step
If you're a Game of Thrones fan or just want to discover some of Northern Ireland's most stunning scenery, this tour from Belfast is a must-do experience. Over the course of the day, you'll pass several filming locations from the series combined with natural World Heritage Sites.
One of the first stops is Ballintoy Harbour, which served as the setting for the Iron Islands, home of House Greyjoy. There you can walk along the very docks where Theon returned home and enjoy spectacular views of the Atlantic.
You'll also visit the impressive Giant's Causeway, a geological wonder made up of thousands of basalt columns that looks like something out of another world. Although not directly featured in the series, its atmosphere fits perfectly with the spirit of Westeros.
Another highlight is the Carrick-a-Rede suspension bridge, which connects the coast to a small island and offers incredible views. The tour includes time to cross it (if it's open), or at least to admire it from the cliffs.
The guide will share with you anecdotes from the filming, trivia about the actors and how the landscapes were adapted to the universe of the series, as well as historical facts about the area, which also has a rich local tradition.
During the tour you will also have time to take photos, buy souvenirs or have a bite to eat (lunch is not included). Transport is by comfortable bus and the group is accompanied at all times by a guide who is passionate about the series.
