When organising a trip to a new destination it is important to plan each activity carefully. Without a doubt, the nights represent an opportunity to further explore the city from a different perspective and, whenever you travel to a safe destination, I recommend you take advantage of them as much as you can.

On this occasion, Seville, with all it has to offer travellers, is also characterised by a vibrant and fun nightlife scene. Below is a list of the best things to do in Seville at night, in the hope that you will integrate as many of them as possible into your itinerary. The list includes a little something for all tastes and for all types of travellers - enjoy!

1. Take a tapas tour of the city

When talking about the famous Spanish tapa, we find ourselves facing a delicious appetizer that has become a distinctive symbol of the nation and one of the first things that comes to the minds of hundreds of travellers when they think of this beautiful country.

In turn, the city of Seville is famous for its rich gastronomy and the many places available to enjoy some of the best tapas in the country. Consequently, one of the best things to do in Seville after sunset is to go on a gastronomic tour to enjoy the delicious tapas.

My recommendation? Take a tapas and wine tour of Seville. These experiences are always handled by local guides who are knowledgeable about the history, architecture, gastronomic evolution and any curious aspect that might be interesting to a traveller visiting Seville for the first time.

Useful information

  • Duration of the tour: Depending on the company you hire you should book between 3 or 4 hours for this experience.
  • Timetable: The night-time gastronomic tour is generally offered from 7.30pm onwards.
  • Price range: From €70 per participant.

2. Attend a flamenco show

Famous the world over for its strong attachment to the culture of flamenco, you simply cannot visit this city without attending a show that honours this beautiful art form.

Fortunately, in the Andalusian capital there is no shortage of alternatives when it comes to flamenco shows in Seville. You'll find a wide variety on offer, ranging from street shows to top-level artists who perform on stages and in city centres.

My favourite alternative is possibly the show offered by the Flamenco Dance Museum in Seville. Here you can do two interesting activities: firstly, you can visit the Flamenco Museum's exhibition, which includes historical data, traditional costumes and highly creative art installations.

The second activity includes attending a flamenco show in a limited capacity hall where you can admire the artists up close.

Useful information

  • Duration: For the flamenco show you should book approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.
  • Timetable: The Flamenco Museum offers two to three performances every night, the first one starting at 5 pm.
  • Price range: You will have to pay around €29 for the experience, the entrance ticket includes the tour of the museum if you want to do it.

3. Take a mystery tour of Seville

Possibly one of the most fun things to do in Seville at night is to book a tour of legends to wander the streets of the historic city centre at dusk.

This type of experience is offered by expert local guides who take the group of travellers through important monuments and squares, but also through less touristy and conventional passages and alleys. Undoubtedly, a different and fun way to discover the city, its oldest legends and its darkest and darkest stories, with characters from other times including Romans, Arabs, Jews and Christians as protagonists.

Although the tour may vary depending on the company you hire, many include in their itinerary places such as the Santa Cruz quarter (famous for its legends and notable tragedies), the Alfalfa quarter and other emblematic sites.

Useful information

  • Duration: Varies depending on the tour you choose, but you should reserve a minimum of 2 hours for this experience.
  • Timetable: Tours are offered several days a week at around 7pm.
  • Price range: From €10 per person.

4. In Seville you can sleep among sharks!

However, if you are visiting Seville with children, many of the activities listed in this article may not be the best environments for young minds.

My recommendation for parents or carers visiting the city for a family holiday is to check out the evening activities on offer at centres such as the Seville Aquarium. My favourite: the opportunity to sleep among sharks at the city's Oceanográfico.

This activity is carried out in small groups and by prior reservation. It is open to the general public, although children must be at least 5 years old and all children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

Useful information

  • Duration: From 8.30pm until midnight.
  • Schedule: At 20:30 h. you must be at the aquarium for the start of the tour.
  • Price range: Around 40 € per person, the price also includes dinner.

5. For the romantics: a night cruise on the Guadalquivir River

Another of the unique experiences that Seville by night has to offer is a trip on a luxury boat on the calm waters of the Guadalquivir River. You will be able to admire the banks of the Guadalquivir River, as well as many important monuments of Seville from a different point of view.

Although the plan may vary depending on the company you choose, a cruise in Seville also includes a dinner on board the boat.

This plan is a very interesting experience for those who visit the city with the intention of celebrating a special occasion with their partner and having a unique evening. It is, for example, one of the favourite plans for lovers visiting Seville in February for Valentine's Day.

Useful information

  • Duration: You should book about 2 hours for this experience.
  • Timetable: Generally the night cruises start at 21h.
  • Price range: Around 75 €.

6. Take a night tour of Seville's illuminated monuments

Seville is a city that exudes charm and romance. Both qualities reach their peak at nightfall, when the city's main monuments are illuminated, creating the perfect night-time backdrop for a moonlit stroll.

This is one of the best experiences to have in the city, so it doesn't matter if your trip is of short duration: reserve a space in your evening to simply walk around and let yourself be caught up in the charm of Seville.

My recommendation is that you include as many monuments and squares as you can in your tour, but if you must prioritise, don't miss the illuminated Giralda. From the square where the Alcázar and the Cathedral are located, the whole is truly spectacular.

Useful information

  • Time: After sunset.
  • Price range: Free.

7. For party lovers: go to the best nightclubs in Seville.

Seville offers numerous plans but it's not all historic buildings, food and flamenco. In this vibrant city, the nightlife is also exciting and young souls looking for a night of fun and dancing are sure to find the city's nightclubs exciting and intriguing.

An important tip; some of the best clubs and discotheques for dancing in Seville are located by the river, specifically in the area belonging to the Triana neighbourhood, especially on Calle Betis. If you don't have too much time, you can focus on exploring the options that this area of the city has to offer until you find a place that matches the party atmosphere you are looking for.

Another important tip, the nightlife in Seville clubs gets livelier after midnight, so if you're going to be in the city for a short time, say 3 days in Seville or less, you can make the most of your night by doing some of the other activities proposed in this article that take place at an earlier time, for example the tapas tour or the mystery tour.

8. Ride Seville's Ferris wheel during the night

Located on the banks of the Guadalquivir River, the Seville Ferris wheel is a tourist attraction that offers some of the best panoramic views of the city. It is a fun, family-friendly activity that is highly recommended if you are in the city with children enjoying your holiday.

The Seville Ferris wheel is made up of an impressive structure whose height exceeds 40 metres and where you will find 30 air-conditioned cabins, so it is even recommended to attend if you visit the city in the colder months such as in the winter months in Seville.

As well as being a light show, the Ferris wheel is well worth a visit at night on a tour of the city, as the atmosphere around the viewing platform becomes a festive atmosphere where you can enjoy music, workshops, small performances, exhibitions and equestrian shows depending on the calendar and the season.

Useful information

  • Duration: You can stay as long as you like.
  • Opening hours: From 10 am to approximately 10 pm.
  • Price range: Adults pay approximately €7.50 while children's tickets are available from €5.00.

If you really want to make the most of your night out in Seville, you need to choose carefully where you are going to dine. In such a beautiful city the best alternative will always be to look for the restaurants with the best views that allow you, while enjoying your dinner, to admire the charm of Seville's urban environment at sunset.

Good food, good views and good company will make your evening memorable.

Restaurants with terrace in Seville

Here are some ideas of restaurants in Seville that offer breathtaking views. However, keep in mind that options abound so I invite you to do your own research.

  • Roof Estamos arriba!: Located at number 15 Trajano Street, this is a space with a relaxed atmosphere and modern touches that offers views of Seville's best skylines. Its selection of signature tapas is one of the best to enjoy in the city.

  • Terraza-Bar Hotel Doña María: At number 19, Calle Don Remondo, you will find a restaurant famous in the city for its breathtaking views of La Giralda.

  • El Mirador de Sevilla If you want to enjoy the best of haute cuisine in an atmosphere with views of Seville, head to the restaurant located on the upper terrace of the Hotel Vincci La Rábida.

10. Take a night-time visit to the roof of Seville Cathedral

The beautiful Seville Cathedral is the largest Gothic temple in the world; although a daytime tour to see the interiors is a must, it is good to know that during the night you can visit the roof on a short tour to admire up close the architectural details that make up its magnificent façade.

The imposing building, which appears on almost every postcard depicting the city, is a monument loaded with symbolism that has played a decisive role in the history of Seville. Consequently, any tour to discover the best of Seville must include a stop to admire the cathedral as closely as possible.

Useful information

  • Where it is and how to get there: The Cathedral is located on Avenida de la Constitución. The nearest metro stop is Puerta de Jerez (line 1).
  • Timetable: From Monday to Thursday night visits are at 21:30; on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 21:00 and 21:30.
  • Price range: The tour to the roof of the cathedral costs around €20 per person.
