Jerez Alcazar and Cathedral Guided Tour

The Alcázar is a group of fortified buildings dating from the 12th century in the Almohad style, i.e. of Muslim origin. Specifically, it is the oldest in Spain. Moving on from the Muslim era, you will visit the 17th century Jerez Cathedral , built in Gothic, Baroque and Neoclassical style. Inside you will learn about why there is no majority Muslim civilisation living in Jerez, as well as the change to a Christian civilisation and the changes this brought about.

Another point of interest inside the Cathedral is a painting on display. It consists of a work by Zurbarán, the Virgen Niña Dormida, which is considered to be one of the treasures of this religious building.
