The conservation and protection of animals, respecting their natural needs and characteristics, has given the zoo the opportunity to become a member of the European Association of Zoos and Aquariums (EAZA).
The origin of the zoo dates back to the Middle Ages, when there were royal menageries on Wawel Hill. During the reign of Sigismund II, these declined, but other private menageries were established throughout Kraków. This led to the establishment of the Cracow Zoological Garden by members of the Polish Society of Naturalists in 1929.
Water and snacks are also available while enjoying the zoo's wildlife. This plan is ideal for a date with your partner or to go with your family. Children can enjoy and learn a lot from the animals, as well as interact with them in a safe and fun environment.
