Cancun Scuba Diving for Beginners

Diving for beginners in Cancun can be a perfect opportunity for your trip. Thanks to this activity, which lasts approximately six hours and in which groups of about six people are allowed, you will have an instructor by your side who will guide you from the first moment of the dive. You don't need a diving certification to have this experience, which will be completed with at least two dives.

Before you dive into the sea, you will receive a theory lesson to cover the basics of this activity and to answer any questions you may have in a pool. The instructor will guide this lesson and will also provide you with the necessary diving equipment, including BCD, regulator, mask, fins, wetsuit, two tanks and weights.

Throughout this experience you will discover at least two different dive sites, where you will be amazed by the nature you will see:

• The MUSA Underwater Museum: one of the largest and most ambitious underwater art attractions in the world. Located near Isla Mujeres and off the coast of Punta Nizuc in Cancun, the museum features more than 500 permanent life-size sculptures created by Jason deCaires Taylor.
• Manchones Underwater Reefs: The reef's vibrant colours and abundant schools of fish delight divers. The sandy bottom and hole formations of the reef provide excellent habitat for rays, nurse sharks, king crabs and lobsters.

For this activity it is important to be aware of your state of health. For example, it is not recommended for travellers with asthma or lung injuries. Also, although no diving certification is required, participants must be able to swim.
