Step by Step
Depart from Siena and explore the towns of San Gimignano and Montalcino with this tour. Each of these towns is about 50 km from Siena, so all necessary transfers are included throughout the tour in an air-conditioned vehicle. You will be picked up directly from your hotel if you are staying within 20 km from the centre of Siena.
During your tour, which normally lasts about 11 hours in total, you will visit a traditional winery in this wine-growing region. In addition to the visit, you will also be provided with a small aperitif with local products accompanied by a wine tasting where you will be able to taste wines such as Brunelli or Chianti. As for the products, you will be able to taste some typical appetizers such as cheese or salamo.
The groups are small, about 8 people, so that the tours through the villages are comfortable. You will be accompanied by a tour guide, who will explain the most important monuments of these villages during the tour.
Both villages have medieval architecture with squares and towers dating from this period. Specifically, in Montalcino you will find a medieval wall preserved from the 12th century, while San Gimignano was declared a World Heritage Site for its architecture.
