You will travel in a comfortable air-conditioned minibus from the base of the mountain and uphill. After a stretch upwards, near the top, you'll alight to embark on a walking tour of the mountain's slopes.
You will walk through the geological formations resulting from its eruptions, the most recent being in 1944 and the most representative in 79 AD, when the event wiped out modern metropolises of the Roman Empire, such as Pompeii and Herculaneum.
