Step by Step

Discover how wonderful Milan is with this guided tour with skip-the-line tickets to Da Vinci's "The Last Supper". In an activity that lasts approximately three hours, a professional guide expert in art history will accompany you on this walking tour. On this walking tour you will have the opportunity to see the exteriors of the main monuments of the Italian city, such as the Milan Cathedral.

The jewel in the crown of this tour will be to admire "The Last Supper". Leonardo began work in 1495 on the north wall of the refectory of the Santa Maria delle Grazie church and finished the painting three years later. Contrary to popular belief, it was not a fresco, which required quick and decisive work before the wet plaster had dried.

Modern restoration showed that the historic repainting was corroding the original and causing it to flake. Today, the painting is preserved thanks to an air filtration system, a monitored environment and dust filtering technology.

It is located in Piazza Santa Maria delle Grazie and being the most important Renaissance painting in the world and very delicate, visits are limited to around fifteen minutes per person.

On this tour, you will also have the opportunity to see other places of interest in what is also considered the city of fashion.

Some of the monuments you will pass by are:

  • Sforza Castle: it has served as a private residence for royalty, arms depot and military barracks throughout its life. Today, the castle houses several Milanese museums, such as the Rondanini-Michelangelo Pietà Museum.
  • Milan Cathedral: known throughout the world for its grandeur and beauty. It houses thousands of statues and hundreds of gargoyles and ecclesiastical figures and is revered as a staple of the Gothic style.
  • Piazza della Scala: home to La Scala, one of the most famous theatres in the world and known as the temple of opera.
  • Via Dante: The street, named after the Florentine poet Dante Alighieri, is known today for its elegant shops, restaurants, cafés and bars.
