Milan Navigli Canals Boat Trip

Stroll along the famous canals of Milan on a boat thanks to this experience. In an activity that lasts almost an hour and in groups of around 40 people, you'll have the chance to relax and see Italy's second most important city from a different perspective. You'll be accompanied by an audio guide who will narrate the different places you'll pass through.

Milan's system of artificial canals, known as "the Navigli", was built between the 12th and 16th centuries to supply the city with water and transport goods. Even Leonardo da Vinci himself was involved in its enclosure systems.

It was in 1805, under Napoleon, that the construction of these canals was completed and they were able to reach the sea through the Pavia and Po canals. Nowadays, on the banks of the city, there is an important nightlife, full of pubs and restaurants.

Moreover, from the boat you will be able to see some of the most important monuments of the city, considered also some hidden gems that escape the tourists. These are:

• The church of San Cristoforo: a complex of two small churches. The older one was rebuilt in the Romanesque period (1192) and remodelled in the 14th century. San Cristoforo is the patron saint of travellers and sailors.
• The church of Santa Maria delle Grazie: The basilica of Santa Maria delle Grazie is located in the heart of Milan. It was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1980 for being one of the greatest testimonies of Renaissance art, due to the presence of Da Vinci's work, The Last Supper.
