Together with an expert guide you will see the Corinth Canal, the archaeological complex of Mycenae, the citadel and treasure of Atreus, the city of Nafplio and the ancient theatre of Epidaurus. You will travel in a well-equipped and very comfortable bus. In addition, entrance tickets to the monuments and points of interest are included. If you wish, you can add lunch for a more complete tour.

The first stop of the tour, which takes about 10 hours, will be at the impressive Corinth Canal. The tour continues to the archaeological site of Mycenae. There you will enjoy the Cyclopean Walls, the Lion's Gate, and the Royal Tombs, including those of the legendary King Agamemnon and Queen Clytemnestra of Sparta.

You will then head to Nafplion, a pretty coastal town from where you can see the harbour and the small fortified island of Bourtzi. You will also visit the fortress of Palamidi, a place of great historical and cultural importance. The fortification is located on the acropolis of Nafplion and has incredible views that you can enjoy while relaxing by the sea.

Next stop will be Epidaurus, famous for its ancient theatre, considered one of the best preserved in the world. Here, your guide will tell you the history of this impressive place, explaining how theatrical performances were held in Ancient Greece. You will be able to listen to the amazing acoustics of the site as you explore the tiers.

During the tour, your guide will give you context and details about the history of the sites you will visit. You will have free time to explore on your own and take photos before returning to Athens by bus. If you are staying in a hotel in the centre of Athens you can arrange to be picked up and dropped off at your accommodation on your return. Marveled at the rich history and breathtaking scenery, but the bus ride was a bit long for my taste.
