Step by Step
Feel like royalty as you experience this half-day excursion to the Palace of Versailles, departing from Paris by air-conditioned coach with full amenities.
You'll gain access to one of France's most legendary and imposing buildings, built by order of King Louis XIII in the 17th century, with a professional guide who will tell you all the stories of the place.
Since its creation, the palace has been passed down from generation to generation by different monarchs, who stylised, modified and built it in various ways until it became the baroque architectural marvel it is today.
This structure, declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco, served as a royal residence between 1682 and 1789, a period that was interrupted by the great French Revolution, which overthrew King Louis XVI to put an end to the monarchy.
Inside, it still houses what were once the King and Queen's chambers, as well as the War and Peace Rooms, plus the beautiful Royal Opera House, a theatre built of wood where the musical performances of the royal era were held.
When you join this tour, you will walk through this and other areas, such as the Hall of Mirrors, where the Treaty of Versailles was signed in 1919, ending the First World War. It is surrounded by 357 mirrors, in a corridor more than 70 metres long.
From the gardens, you will be able to appreciate some 800 hectares of greenish surface, with an endless number of fountains, ponds, plants and flowers that will make your trip an unforgettable experience. In summer, a fountain show attracts thousands of visitors.
On the first Sundays of each month, it is not possible to hire the services of a professional guide, but you will be able to visit the park with an audio guide.
