Cartagena Drumming and Dancing Lesson

Travel from Cartagena de Indias to the town of La Boquilla, on Colombia's Caribbean coast, for an unforgettable dance and percussion class, a musical and cultural experience lasting about three hours.

A driver will pick you up from your accommodation in Cartagena to travel in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle to this coastal town, located about 35 minutes from the city.

You will participate in a workshop of percussion and typical dances of the region, taught by a group of musical experts from the community, whose aim is to enhance the artistic traditions of the area with these fun and enriching classes.

You will learn about the sound customs of the Carthaginians who, through the beating of their village drums and genres such as champeta, tell their spectacular story to tourists.

You will be instructed to practice how to let your body loose and let yourself be carried away by the Caribbean rhythms, to the sound of percussion, to get the rhythm of this unique dance.

At the end of the drumming and dancing session, you will have the opportunity to swim on the beach and take advantage of the paradisiacal waters of the Caribbean, before returning to Cartagena.
