This museum was founded in 1984 with the aim of exploring the history and culture of Quebec, as well as giving a space to other civilisations of the world. Some of the highlights of the museum's collection are objects from Quebec's "First Nations".
This exhibition, one of the few permanent exhibits in the museum, is called "C'est notre histoire", which traces the lives of the more than 95,000 Aboriginal and Inuit people who lived in Quebec. The tour consists of five distinct sections that explain what Aboriginal and Inuit peoples are all about: their roots, the period of great upheaval, healing and decolonisation.
The museum also has rotating exhibitions that run for a few months and are very varied. The museum also offers various educational programmes for people of all ages. It is recommended to install the museum app for a more immersive experience.
