Step by Step

Tread the battlefields of World War I with this tour to Flanders from Brussels. Throughout the experience you will be accompanied by a tour guide who will explain the history and anecdotes that took place here.

It is approximately 120 km from Brussels to the battlefield, which is why the tour includes return transfers in an air-conditioned vehicle. Once you arrive at the remains of the battlefield, you will see a number of monuments commemorating those who fell in battle.

Some of the most impressive you will see are the Soldier of the Brood monument, an imposing statue dedicated to the sacrifice of 2000 Canadian soldiers who died during a German gas attack. Other examples are the Religious Memorial of the Afflicted Fathers , or the Western Front , which symbolises Belgium's courage during the conflict.

On the other hand, you will not only see monuments, but also parts of real history, starting of course with the battlefield itself. Also included is admission to the Flanders Field Museum, where you can learn more about the history of Flanders. You will also visit the Tyne Cot Cemetery and the German cemetery at Vladslo.

It was a long day, but fortunately we only had a small group, so it was quick to get everyone on and off the minibus.
